About Catherine

​

A native Californian, Catherine Ortiz grew up near the small beach city of Port Hueneme. She pursued higher education in music, art, painting, textile design, and paper arts. After a long career in television operations, Catherine was eager to return to her artistic roots. She took over the shop in 2010 and is now a member of the Professional Picture Framers Association (PPFA). Catherine continues her education of the latest processes, materials, and industry trends with visits to framing conferences, festivals, and conventions.
